Clinton firefighters were practicing a new technique Wednesday – bringing a disabled person down the ladder of their newest aerial truck acquired in 2014. The ladder will stretch out to 100 feet and can be used in various scenarios, including not only high-rise fires but rescuing people off roofs, stretching out over a body of water, etc.

For a record third time, Clinton attorney Mart Tisdal has been named the Oklahoma City area’s “Lawyer of the Year” for Oil and Gas Law by Best Lawyers.
The publication also names a “Lawyer of the Year” for the Tulsa area, so that’s why this one is specific to the Oklahoma City area.

Mustafa Sami fell three votes short of winning the Ward 4 city council race. To win outright a candidate had to receive more than 50 percent of the vote. Sami will face Bobby Stewart in the Nov. 8 election. Sami received 48 votes, Stewart 35 and Incumbent Lucas Martinez 15.



Clinton Red Tornado football begins its 2016 regular season against the returning 5A state champion Altus Bulldogs 7 p.m. Friday at home.


After, by his own estimation, 41 years, one month and one week in the pulpit of the First Church of God, Roy Dobbs told his Church Council and congregation Sunday that he is retiring.
