The Clinton Parks and Recreation Department is getting ready for their official opening Saturday, May 28.

Parents looking to keep their school-aged children busy this summer have lots to choose from.

This week, Clinton schools wrap up the year on a positive note, in spite of severe budget cuts that have plagued districts across the state.

“We weren’t affected by the budget cuts this year, so we didn’t have to dip into savings,” Hime said. “But next year there’s a huge chance we might have to.”

In 2012, the Oklahoma Department of Human Services (DHS) settled a class action, civil rights lawsuit against its foster care system by agreeing to make improvements in the state’s Child Welfare system.
