Sources for new water described
Clinton should have an additional 2 million gallons of water per day available within one year of signing a Phase 2 contract with the Severn Trent team, it was indicated Monday night.
The team expects to present its Phase 1 findings at a City Council meeting Sept. 16. That’s also when councilmen will find out what the cost for Phase 2 is going to be. If the council decides to sign on for Phase 2, presumably it would be soon after that.
Monday’s meeting was held in the big banquet room at the Frisco Center, and the acoustics were horrible. The seating arrangement had the public sitting some distance from a horseshoe-type arrangement where councilmen, company spokesmen and city staff were seated, so much of the discussion could not be heard.
