In the Tuesday, Feb. 5 issue of the Clinton Daily News, an announcement was relayed that the USDA (U.S. Department of Agriculture) had awarded a grant of $899,427 to Southwestern Oklahoma State University to be disseminated amongst school systems in Beckham, Blaine, Caddo, Custer, Dewey and Washita counties for the purposes of advancing concurrent opportunities to students in western Oklahoma.

Custer County commissioners quickly went through the agenda at their Monday meeting, giving reports on developments within their districts. They also gave updates on recent incidents of unauthorized removal of county signs, stating that such actions would not be tolerated.
