Bobby Gene “Bob” Goss (89), devoted, loving, and cherished husband, father, grandfather and friend, passed away at home surrounded by his family on September 18, 2024 after a brief illness.
Bob was born September 30, 1934 to James and Eather Goss and was raised in Cordell, Oklahoma. Bob was a proud Cordell Blue Devil and graduated from Cordell High School in 1952. He moved to Clinton in 1960 when he married the love of his life, Betty Lou Wolf, on November 28 of that same year. They embarked on a 63- year journey during which they built a strong family, pursued, and lived the American dream.
Bob and Betty ran the Mobil Gas Station in Clinton before he found his work “home” at Blunck’s Studios in 1965. He began an impressive career lasting 55 years working his way from the ground floor to Vice President. With his endearing personality, humor and quick wit, he built lasting relationships and loyal friendships with principals, school superintendents and yearbook sponsors all across Oklahoma, Texas and Kansas and helped solidify Blunck’s place in the market. He was the first to say it was his coworkers who he treated like family, which made it easy to continue in a job he loved. Bob retired in 2020 after a distinguished career marked by his unwavering dedication and adaptability.
He enjoyed visiting his daughters and grandkids in Dallas and Branson, trips to California with best friends and visiting family in Park City, Utah. In retirement, you could find him most mornings holding court at McKinsey Motors keeping tabs on all the latest Clinton news or OU football. He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church and served on the church council.
Bob was a staple in the Clinton community, known for his kindness, dedication and vibrant spirit. He leaves behind a legacy of love, hard work and a welldressed presence that will be fondly remembered.
He was preceded in death by his parents James and Eather Goss; brothers Jimmy and Sammy Goss; parents-in-law John and Dorothy Wolf; sister and brother-in-law Lydia and Leroy Godfrey; sister and brotherin- law Marie and Otto Goeringer; brother brotherin- law Richard and wife Phyllis Wolf; brother-in-law E.J.
