Bobby (Bob) Gerald Ptak, age 75, a resident of Bixby, OK passed away at 10pm Monday, September 5, 2022.
Bob was born on Saturday, August 16, 1947, in Clinton, OK to parents Gladys M. Conley (Mother) and Leon Ptak (Father). Bob graduated Clinton High School in 1964 and attended Southwestern Oklahoma State University before entering military service with the Army on April 13, 1967, being honorably discharged in May of 1972. During his military career he served as a Military Artillery Trainer.
Bob transitioned from his military service to a position with Nash Men’s Clothing Store in Clinton, eventually being promoted to Sales Manager for the Tulsa location. Bob’s experience in sales helped him to enter the concrete pipe industry with Rinker Materials where he worked up to the position of Regional Manager for Oklahoma City and Tulsa where he worked for 32 years. He finished his career at J & G Concrete in Lubbock, TX where he served as the Plant Manager until his retirement in 2010.
Bob had a love for sports, especially OU Football, golf, and his own time spent as a boxer, and time playing baseball through the American Legion. He enjoyed time with family best, especially when accompanied by good food like barbecue and Wong’s Restaurant in Clinton, OK. For the last few years, Bob enjoyed raising his two fur babies Tina and Rusty who he frequently took on walks in the neighborhood, to the dog park, and to Noah’s Bed & Biscuit in Kiefer, OK. An avid reader of western fiction, Bob managed to read over 1000 books before his Kindle gave out along with his vision.
Bob is survived by his spouse Deborah A. Ptak, his son Robert Ptak, with granddaughters Justine and Camille, son Mickey Ptak, with grandchildren Michael and Angelica, daughter Lisa Hamilton, with grandchildren Cora and Dean, stepson Shawn Cooper, with grandchildren Madeline and Morgan, siblings Leon Ptak and Shirley Diekman, and 3 great-grandchildren.
The family is thankful for all the kind support and love shared by extended family, friends, and neighbors, and for the compassionate care provided by St. Francis Hospice and their staff.
