It’s been an ultraclean defensive start to the season for the Class A, No. 17 Arapaho-Butler baseball team (4-3 overall) so far.

The Class 5A, No. 18 Clinton volleyball team (5-7 overall) didn’t go down without a fight but rallied too late in a four-set (17-25, 16-25, 25-13, 21-25) loss at home Monday, to rival and Class 4A, No. 17 Weatherford (5-3).

Fight erupts during CHS scrimmage

A Clinton High School assistant football coach is on administrative leave and several CHS football players are allegedly being punished for their role in a large fight during a scrimmage with El Reno Friday night in Lawton. Lawton Eisenhower High School was also taking part in the scrimmage but was not involved in the skirmish.

LAWTON – A fight between the Clinton and El Reno football teams forced the season-opening, threeteam scrimmage Friday that also featured Lawton Eisenhower, to end early.

Lady Reds win first two at tourney

A strong schedule and a long road trip isn’t intimidating the Clinton softball team, and in fact, CHS is scratching and clawing its way to a solid start, moving back to .500 Thursday in the Kingfisher Tourney.

The Clinton volleyball team (5-6 overall) needed just three sets to capture a second consecutive win, and this time it came against Altus.

After it looked like the Clinton football team wouldn’t receive a home scrimmage this season, it’ll now host Class 3A power Anadarko at 6 p.m. Thursday night.

Lady Indians are off to strong start

Winning and playing at a high level are becoming a regular trend for the Arapaho-Butler softball team (6-3 overall), and it’s really showed that elite play over the last week.

Rain storms saturated the playing fields for the Arapaho-Butler baseball team and the Clinton softball team for most of the last week, and it’s forced the rescheduling/cancelling of multiple games.
