Lee joins Clinton in full-time capacity

A former Red Tornado and 2007 state champion returned to the sidelines last year in 2011 graduate Jacob Lee, and he’ll be coaching in a full-time capacity this fall, as he finishes up his degree at SWOSU to become a teacher.

Roque signs on with Bethany

A state qualifier, owner of a 62-27 high school record and now a college athlete – Clinton’s Elijah Roque will wrestle at the next level this year, signing on to continue his career at Bethany College in Lindsborg, Kansas.

Byng wins state championship

The Byng Southern Legends captured the OK Kids coach pitch state championship Saturday at Acme Brick Park in Clinton, beating the Shawnee PC Naturals, 12-0, in three innings. Byng swept the tourney with a record of 5-0 and dominated opposing teams. Byng outscored opponents by a combined score of, 56-9, including the run-rule win in the championship. It finishes the season with an overall mark of 58-1 on the season.
