CHS soccer splits opener

OKLAHOMA CITY – The long-awaited return of Clinton soccer came a little earlier than usual Monday, and the Reds (1-0 overall) prevailed, 3-1, over Mount St. Mary, while the Lady Reds (0-1) fell short in their comeback, 3-2.

Both CHS teams advance to area

KINGFISHER – The recent run of hardwood success for Clinton basketball continued on at the regional tournament Saturday, with both CHS teams winning regional consolation titles to advance to the area tourney.

Pitman named COTY, as Reds end year at state

OKLAHOMA CITY – Clinton wrestling put up a competitive effort and fell just short of putting a few Reds on the podium Friday at the state tourney, however the group gained experience, along with CHS head coach Rob Pitman being named 4A coach of the year by the Central Oklahoma Wrestling Official’s Association.

CHS records first losses of postseason

WEATHERFORD – Both Clinton basketball teams dropped their first games of the 2021 postseason Thursday at Weatherford, losing in the regional winner’s bracket and moving to the consolation bracket, as of press time Friday.

Indians repeat as regional champs

MOORELAND – Surviving a furious comeback attempt by No. 14 Seiling (19-4 overall), the No. 3 Arapaho-Butler boys’ basketball team (17-6) clung to its lead, held on and captured a second straight regional title Tuesday night, 43-40.

Reds’ rally caps district sweep

WOODWARD – A 38-19 halftime deficit for the Clinton boys’ basketball team put its district title streak in major doubt Tuesday night, at Woodward.

Bennett makes it five to state

Following a strong day one at the regional tournament, Clinton sophomore, 170-pound wrestler Trey Bennett solidified the program’s state qualifiers at five on day two, finishing as the bracket’s runner-up Monday at the Tornado Dome.
