CHS gets sweep streak going

The Clinton basketball program is peaking and winning at the right time, earning a second consecutive sweep Tuesday night in the Tornado Dome – this time against Newcastle.

ARAPAHO – It’s become commonplace for Arapaho-Butler basketball to host the district tourney, and the program gets the opportunity again, starting Friday.

CHS sweeps Elgin on the road

ELGIN – A quick turnaround from a pair of tough games Thursday against Woodward ended in a road sweep of the Elgin Owls Friday night for the Clinton basketball program.

The Class 4A west regional wrestling tournament is coming to Clinton this Friday and Saturday, and it features a loaded field of competitors.

It becomes clearer each time out that the Clinton girls’ basketball team is difficult to score on, and even without its full roster again Thursday night, CHS held Woodward’s offense down in a 36-32 win at the Tornado Dome.

Sutton gives max effort to CHS

Clutch free throws in the final minute from Atrel Bryson and a late-game take over by Caden Powell helped the Clinton boys’ basketball team (9-4 overall) to its fourth win in the last five games, against Anadarko Tuesday night at the Tornado Dome, 64-56.

Bryson named to OCA All-State team

There’s no doubt that the Clinton football team wouldn’t have made its state championship runner-up run without senior star running back/free safety Atrel Bryson, and the Oklahoma Coaches Association acknowledged that, honoring him with an All-State West roster spot at running back.
