Funeral service for Safina Banuelos, 42 year-old Weatherford resident, will be held Wednesday, February 14, 2024, 10:00 A.M. in the First Baptist Church with Earl Stephenson officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery under the direction of Lockstone Funeral Home.

Safina was born January 12, 1982, in Clinton, to Justina (Murillo) Banuelos and passed away Friday, February 9, 2024, at Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City. Safina was raised and attended school in Thomas, graduating with the Class of 2000. She earned a Bachelor of Business degree from SWOSU in 2005. Safina held several jobs throughout her life but the ones she loved most were those that provided her the opportunity to enjoy her true passion of helping others. When she was hired with a hospice company, she knew it was perfect.

She loved giving back to the community but was proudest of her annual Food Pantry Thanksgiving meal she would cook for local families in need. Safina loved fundraising events, cooking and baking, doing crafts, shopping at Hobby Lobby, and spending time with family and friends. She was a ray of sunshine everywhere she was and always had a positive outlook. She never met a stranger and was a wonderful mother to her children.

Safina is survived by two daughters, Summer Lettkeman and Autumn Lettkeman both of Weatherford; two sons, Benjamin Banuelos of Thomas and Kyle Scott of Weatherford; three sisters, Brenda Franks and husband, Damon of Coolidge, AZ, Maria Waldron and husband, Kenny of Thomas and Melissa Pray and husband, Gabe of Weatherford; and three brothers, Tony Banuelos and wife, Melanie of Midland, TX, Arturo Banuelos of Lynchburg, VA and Israel Banuelos and wife, Kim of Thomas. She was preceded in death by her mother.

Memorials may be made to the Weatherford Food and Resource Center.
