Speed increasing on parts of I-40

Oklahoma Department of Transportation (ODOT) equipment operator Rick Garcia holds up the new 75 mph speed limit sign for I-40. The speed limit will change to 75 on the trip from Clinton to Elk City and east beyond Weatherford. The normal speed limit of 70 will remain between Clinton and Weatherford and west of Elk City. Retirement reception set for OSU’s Wright

The Custer County Clerk’s Office and friends will host a public come-and-go retirement reception for outgoing Custer County OSU Extension Director Ron Wright, from 1-4 p.m. Friday, Aug. 14 at the Custer County Courthouse.

Head-on wreck injures 2

One Custer City woman is in critical condition after injuries incurred in a head-on collision Thursday afternoon on U.S. Highway 183 north of Arapaho.

Deputies conducted a welfare check of female stating there is an upstairs apartment that no one should be in and she heard noises coming from it at 10340 N. 2388 Road.
