Mission House trying to help record numbers

The Mission House is seeing record numbers of hungry visitors to its soup kitchen lately, topping more than 200 meals per day several times last week. Director Jennifer Howard said if it continues at this rate, they’ll run out of food before their next delivery from the Oklahoma Regional Food Bank.

A Clinton man recently led the Weatherford Police Department on a high-speed chase in an apparent attempt to keep his uncle from being arrested on outstanding warrants.

WPLS bookmobile hosts delegation

As the only library system in the state that runs a traditional “overthe-road” bookmobile service, Western Plains Library System (WPLS) is a model for other systems in the state.
