Students learn political process

Western Oklahoma Christian School teacher Phyllis Hobbs teaches Grady Dlugonski about the voting registration process.

Arapaho-Butler Elementary School principal Brad Southall said the school is trying something new this year for its annual pancake supper fundraiser. In addition to the pancake supper, which will be open from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 25 in the A-B Elementary cafeteria, a “Parents’ Night” will also be held from 6-7:30 p.m.

CHS Gold Team advancing to State

The Clinton High School Gold Mock Trial Legal Team has been advanced to State Semi- Finals, where they will compete against approximately 40 other teams from across the state in the Oklahoma Bar Association Mock Trial competition. Pictured at the Chickasaw Judicial Center in Ada are, front row from left, Cara Herrera, co-captain Madison Hall, Alexia Vasquez, Hardy Sperle, Uriah Mitra and Riley Farmer; and back row, teacher/coach Ms. Ashley Kelley, Chelsea Nickel, Jayden Oyler, co-captain Connor Williams, Moises Villanueva, volunteer Chase Maxwell and Andy Balderas. After a lot of hard work, the CHS team is among the top eight teams moving forward.

Clinton TLC makes

Several changes taking place recently at Clinton Therapy and Living Center (TLC) include a new site administrator, a change in ownership, and the addition of a specially trained nurse consultant team. The facility is also scheduled to get a new roof next month.

Clinton Boy Scouts enjoy great outdoors

Rep. John Pfeiffer (R- Orlando) recently passed House Bill 3195 through the House Judiciary Committee. The legislation would direct all sheriffs, jailers and deputies to comply with any request made in an immigration retainer request provided by the federal government.

House Speaker Pro Tempore Harold Wright (R-Weatherford) and State Rep. Todd Russ (R- Cordell) today honored Dr. Henrietta Mann for her work to preserve American Indian Culture on the floor of the House of Representatives.
