Mayor David Berrong will host the third annual “Love the Hub Party” from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Thursday, June 6, at the Frisco Center. This year he’s invited representatives from some of Clinton’s largest employers.

Jim Hill, a resident at Grace Living Center, reflects on his 50 years of continuous service to the American Legion. Hill also spent 35 years serving in the U.S. Marines and Oklahoma National Guard, and retired as a Command Sgt. Major in the U.S. Army.

Even after the heavy rains Custer County experienced this week, the county’s 121 watersheds weathered the storms just fine according to Custer County Conservation District secretary Cindy Gerhardt. That despite the fact that most are reaching the end of their estimated 50-year lifespan.

Two organizations have been granted money from the City of Clinton’s Hotel/Motel Tax to help them host events this summer, but the amount was cut considerably for one of them.
