Dr. Ching-Yi Chen went to our Lord on 2/16/2021. Dr. Chen was born on January 10 th , 1945 to Mr. Mu-Hai Chen and Mrs. Ju-Chu Chen-Hsaio in Heit, Takao Prefecture of Japanese Formosa (Currently Pingtung City, Taiwan. He was conscripted to the Taiwanese Air Force from 1963 to 1965.
He married Lin Lin-Man, a nurse, in 1970 and graduated with a medical degree at Chung-Shan Medical Specialized School at Taitung, Taiwan.
He obtained acupuncture certification in 1973 and completed his medical training in Taiwan. He had two sons before immigrating to the United States in 1974 for his United States medical residency. Due to immigration laws at the time, his family had to wait a year and joined him in Yonkers, NY in 1975.
He completed his residency in St. Vincent Hospital and Medical Center of New York in Manhattan, NY in 1979. Afterwards, he moved his family to Clinton, OK to start a private practice in obstetrics and gynecology.
Early in his career he had his daughter in Clinton. He was president of the medical staff at Integris Clinton Re gional Hospital multiple times.
Shortly after his wife died in 2001, he retired in 2002. He married Wen-Lin Hseih in 2014, and divorced in 2018.
He was an avid gardener and botanist. Promoting Chinese and Taiwanese culture and history was his passion. He was a loving father, and a caring grandfather that will be missed greatly.
He was preceded in death by his father in 1945, his sister, Helen Cheng-Yu Hwang-Chen, in 1991, his wife in 2001, and mother in 2003.
He is survived by his sister, Fang-Yu Wang-Chen of Kaohsiung, Taiwan, oldest son, Dr. Don Chen, DDS of Beaverton, OR, second son Dr. Eddie Chen, DO of Fort Collins, CO, and daughter Dr. Eileen Chen-Mizuuchi DDS of Allen, TX.
Memorial Services with Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home will be held at a later date, due to the current COVID-19 pandemic.
