Memorial services for Joyce Lorene Stewart, 73 year-old Corn resident, will be held Friday, July 2, 2021, 2:00 P.M. in Life Fellowship Church with Ric Freeman officiating under the direction of Lockstone Funeral Home.
Joyce was born April 15, 1948, in Eldorado, Kansas to James Taylor and Joy (Malan) Marshall and passed away Sunday, June 27, 2021, at her home in Corn.
Joyce was raised and attended school in Eldorado and Dodge City. On March 14, 1968, she married Joseph Ray Stewart in Dodge City, Kansas and made their home in Corn, Oklahoma in 1972.
Joyce worked as a Child Nutrition Director for Washita Heights and Weatherford schools; and served as class parent before retiring after 16 years. She joined the Life Fellowship Church in 1992.
Joyce enjoyed golfing, holidays (especially Christmas), and spending time with grandchildren. She was known as an excellent cook and loved doing the praise and worship music at church.
Joyce is survived by her husband of 53 years, Joseph Stewart of their home in Corn; two sons, Joe Stewart and wife, Crystal of Edmond and Jerry Stewart and wife, Susy of Edmond; one daughter, Lori Deffenbaugh and husband, Tim of Clinton; two brothers, Ray Malan and wife, Cindy of Colorado and J.D. Banks and wife, Debbie of Cordell; three sisters, Janet Giles of Flagstaff, Arizona, Janell Riggs and husband, Rodney of Enid, and Becky Ogden of Florida; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents.
