Dana Lynne Russell, 57, of Spavinaw, Oklahoma, passed away on Saturday, July 24, 2021 at her home.

She was born on November 22, 1963 in St. Louis, Missouri, the daughter of Charles Lee Turner and Dolores (Hale) Turner.

Dana married Clifford Russell and made their home in Spavinaw, Oklahoma. A lovely lady who will be so very missed by all who knew her.

Dana graduated from Clinton High School in 1981 in Clinton, OK. She was active in the CHS Band and was Drum Major her senior year. She was also active in FFA. She then attended and graduated from SWOSU in Weatherford, OK.

While attending SWOSU, she was active with the SWOSU Marching Band.

After High School she worked for Safeway/ Homeland in Clinton, OK. Later she worked as a teacher’s assistant for the Locust Grove Schools. Dana was also the Post Color Guard Secretary.

Dana is survived by her husband, Clifford Russell of the home; sons, Ky Hanna and Clifford Russell, Jr.; daughter, Melissa Russell Johnson; brother, Kerby Piccard; sisters, Tena Turner, Holly Winters and Kim Snider; nephews, Jason Burd, Joshua Burd; great nephew, Jayden Burd; 7 grandchildren; Parents Steve and Dolores Hanna, and Sue Turner.

She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Turner; sister, Holly Winters and her grandparents.

No formal services are planned at this time.

Memorials can be donated in her name to their local pet shelter and/or The Cancer Society.
