Funeral Services for Mary Jernigan, 81, Clinton resident will be held 10:00 A.M., Thursday, December 9, 2021 in the Pentecostal Church (formerly Trinity Lutheran) South 13th Street and Modelle, officiated by Pastor Jessie Musick and under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home.

Mary Ellen Jernigan was born June 19, 1940 to Clyde Cotton and Hazel (Martin) Cotton in Vicks, AR and passed away Saturday, December 4, 2021 in her Clinton home.

Mary was raised in Cordell most of her life and she graduated from Cordell High School in 1957. She married James Sidney Jernigan on May 16, 1958. She worked 34 years at the Tradewinds as well as working for the Clinton Public Schools and until recent the Clinton Therapy and Living Center in Clinton.

She enjoyed doing yard work, working in her flower beds, junking and spending time with family and being with her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, James, sister, Anna Mae Smith, grandson, Phillip Kirkham, nephew, Bobby Wooley.

She is survived by her daughter Cheryl Sikes and husband, Clinton, two sons, Jimmy Jernigan and wife, Phyllis, Muldrow, OK and John Jernigan, Denver, CO; two sisters, JoAnn Keng, Clinton and Norma Rhoads, Weatherford; brother, Michael Cotton, Van Buren, AR.

She is also survived by her grandchildren, Shawn and Megan Sikes, Clinton, T-Dub and Jeannett Sikes, Clinton, Troy and Candice Sikes, Clinton, Trent Cavanaugh, Denver, CO, Richard Dodge, Clinton, Robby Henson, Mulberry AR, Melody Kirkham, Muldrow, OK ; great grandchildren, Ashley Frasier, Joey Williams, Charlie Person, Cali Sikes, Marc Edgar, Jonathan Edgar, Kristina, Kera, Clay and Calie Henson; great-great grandchildren, Jaden Frasier, Ryan Williams, Aria Cernanski, Lilah Ceranski and one on the way, Gage Williams.
