Flossie M. Taylor, 81 years old of Elk City, Oklahoma passed away February 4, 2022. She was born March 24, 1940 in Shattuck, Oklahoma to Thomas Matthews and Esther Fern (Shelinbarger) Matthews.
She married Leslie Don Taylor and they made their home in Enid, Oklahoma. In 1980 they moved to western Oklahoma where they enjoyed farming, gardening and tending to their cattle. Flossie worked as a barber at Men’s of Clinton barbershop for many years. She was an excellent seamstress and wonderful cook and also loved her family very much.
Flossie moved to Elk City in 2016 to be closer to her family after the death of her husband in 2012.
Something that was so dear to her heart was her love of being one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Flossie dedicated her life to Jehovah God on April 27, 1968 and she has spent decades enjoy g Registrying teaching people the wonderful truths of the Bible. Most notable is her taking on the task of learning Spanish by going to SWOSU and taking courses when she was in her 60’s so that she could help even more individuals learn about her God Jehovah and the truths that the Bible holds out. And she spent many years doing just that.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Esther Matthews; husband, Leslie Don; her brothers, Albert and Delbert Matthews; one sister, Mary Govro and her grandson, Leslie Ryan Lispi.
Flossie is survived by two daughters, Donna Lispi, Green Valley, AZ and Sherry Blackmon and husband, Allen Dale, Dover, AR; two sons, Leslie Thomas Taylor and wife, Geri, Elk City, OK and Monte Taylor, Foss, OK; 8 grandchildren, Andrea Lispi, Olathe, KS, Kelly Stroup, Dover, AR, Chris Stroup and wife, Emilee, Virginia Beach, VA, Nikita Jackson and husband, David, Russellville, AR, Tacey Logan and husband, Jared, Clinton, OK, Jamie Taylor, Russellville, AR, Samantha Aitken and husband, Geoffrey, Atkins, AR and Jesse Taylor, Oklahoma City, OK; 11 great grandchildren, Leslie Jordan, Jay Kruz, Nevin, Christian, Logan, Titus, Bodhi, Joel, Parker, Jaxon and Mya and a host of numerous other family and friends who loved her very much.
