Funeral services for Royal Turner, 16, of Clinton, will be held at 1 p.m. Monday in the Cheyenne Arapaho Community Building east of Clinton.
He died Monday, July 29, 2019, at the Oklahoma University Medical Center in Oklahoma City.
Royal Dupree Turner was born Aug. 18, 2002, to James Turner and Charlene Harrington in Clinton. He was raised and attended school in Clinton and would have been a junior in high school this year.
Turner was active in basketball, enjoyed video games and loved music.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Leora Bell and James L. Turner Sr. and Naomi Fern Hill and Charles Harrington.
Survivors include his parents and two sisters, Natasha Turner and Angela Montono, all of Clinton; and six brothers, Ramon Montono and Art Lloyd, both of Clinton, Luther Turner and James Turner III, both of Oklahoma City, Kristian Turner of Chicago, Ill., and James Lloyd of Cordell.
A traditional wake service will be held at 7 p.m. Sunday in the Community Building.
The service will be officiated by Delfred “Bunny” Whitecrow. Burial will follow in the Clinton Cemetery under the direction of Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home.
