Sharron May Ladd was born in Booneville, Arkansas on June 6, 1943 to Tom Ladd Jr. and Lila Mae Hicks Ladd. Welcoming her into the world were her maternal grandparents Andrew Washington Hicks and Mamie Frances Kingsborough Hicks and paternal grandparents Tom Ladd Sr. and Lola Mae Vaughn Ladd.

Present at her birth were her two youngest aunts, Margie Sue Hicks Waggoner and Jean Ladd Hopkins. Other family was Gene, Carl, Dale and Hobert Hicks and Nana, Rena and Dale Ladd. As years went by she was sister to Carolyn Ladd Bradley (Sammy Bradley deceased), Tommy Ladd, Charles Ladd (Gloria Mattern deceased) and Carla Ladd Suitor.
