Funeral services for Roy Lee Washington, 60, of Clinton will be held at 1 p.m. Friday in the First Baptist Church.
He died Monday, Aug. 5, 2019, at AllianceHealth Midwest in Oklahoma City.
Washington was born Oct. 22, 1958, to Alfred and Mollie (McNac) Washington in Clinton. He was raised in Clinton and graduated from Clinton High School in 1976.
He moved to Memphis, Tenn., for a short time and then returned to Clinton. He was employed with the City of Clinton in the maintenance department before beginning a 39-year career with the former Arkla Gas Company (now Center Point Energy).
Washington was a servant to all and helped anyone in need. He was an avid sports fan and a lover of music, and he enjoyed any kind of history, military information, and reading the National Geographic.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Peggy Ford; a brother, Alfred Washington Jr.; a granddaughter, Alina Marie Lint; and a sister-in-law, Gloria Washington.
Survivors include his wife, Doris, of the home; four daughters, Brandi Lint and husband Brian of Ely, Iowa, Crystal Griffin of Oklahoma City, Trisha Hester of Clinton, and Courtney Foust and husband Jesse of Marion, Iowa; two sons, Christopher Washington and wife Rhiannon of Clinton, and Kelley Washington of Golden, Colo.; four sisters, Josephine Caldwell of Clinton, Doris Washington of Las Vegas, Nev., Bertha Washington of Clinton, and Rita Romero and husband Chris of Antioch, Calif.; three brothers, Willie B. “Jack” Murphy of Henrietta, Toy Washington and wife Radean of Clinton, and Henry Washington of Clinton.
He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
The service will be officiated by Pastor Jessie Musick and Rev. Spencer Ledbetter. Burial will follow in the Clinton Cemetery under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home.
