Anita Eileen Joyner Roberts was born on March 10, 1947 in Clinton Oklahoma. She joined her Lord and Savior on November 24,2022 in Dallas Texas.

Anita was the daughter of Todd and Nita Bennett Joyner. After graduating from Clinton High School in 1965; she graduated from Oklahoma State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and Early Education.

She later received her Masters Degree as a Reading Specialist from Texas A&M University Kingsville. Throughout her life she enjoyed teaching children in Kansas, Oklahoma, and Texas until she retired from the public school system in 1995. After retirement Anita founded The Reading Doctor, her private business that specialized in helping children overcome their learning disabilities. Throughout her life Anita remained active in the Order of the Eastern Star. She also enjoyed playing the piano. Her passion for helping children that struggle with reading impacted the lives of countless children for many years.

She is preceded in death by her parents and her Paternal Grandparents Arthur and Mary Joyner; and Maternal Grandparents George and Ida Ellen Bennett.

Anita is survived by her children Howard Wayne and Ellen Suzanne Roberts; her sisters Ellen Joyner Sebestyen and Mary Joyner Crose; as well as numerous cousins, loved ones and friends.
