Debra Lee (Goucher) Nicholson was born May 15, 1959 in Clinton, Oklahoma.
She was the loving daughter of Ernest Lee Goucher and Audrey Mae (Hutton) Goucher. Debbie entered her eternal home, Tuesday, January 3, 2023 surrounded by those she loved.
Raised in Clinton, Debbie attended Clinton Public Schools, then transferred to Arapaho where she graduated in 1977. She continued her education at Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford, Oklahoma, receiving a degree in marketing. She spent her early life as an employee and then became the co-owner of Pepsi Cola Bottling Company of Clinton.
On October 5, 1990, she married Mark Nicholson, and they began their life together. During Levi and Baily’s youth, the family drove endless miles to American Quarter Horse shows, baseball games, and equestrian meets.
As a family they experienced the best of times through the windshield of a Chevy, always returning to their home in Arapaho.
The most important things in Debbie’s life were her family, faith and friends. She enjoyed Southern Gospel music, quilting, animals, painting, scrapbooking, bird watching, interior designing and gardening.
She was a world famous cook and an award-winning chocolatier. If you truly knew Debbie, then you know she was an extreme organizer.
Above all, her passion and most favorite thing was being called Granny. She loved spending all the time she could with her six grandchildren doing activities like moon watching, baking, crafting, picnicking, watching movies, and having sleepovers.
Debbie’s hope was built on nothing less than Jesus’ blood and righteousness.
Her faith was never shaken during this past season of her life because she accepted and knew Jesus as her personal Savior.
She was a loyal and faithful member of the Stafford Missionary Baptist Church, where her love will forever shine through the beautiful stained glass windows she crafted.
Debbie was preceded in death by her parents Lee and Audrey Goucher and grandson Remington Lee Kauk.
She is survived by her husband, Mark, of the home; son Levi Nicholson and wife, Sara; daughter Baily Kauk and husband, Clay; six grandchildren: Audrey, Hutton, Harper, Maverick, Asher and Hazel, all of Arapaho, Oklahoma; Father and Mother-in-love, Buck and Doris Nicholson, of Clinton, Oklahoma. She is also survived by her four-legged friend, Simon Peter as well as numerous other family and friends.
The family suggests memorial contributions be sent to Spreading the WORD Ministry, PO Box 244, Clinton, OK 73601.
