Funeral services for Eddie King, 84, Clinton resident, will be held 10:00 AM, Wednesday, September 20, 2023, in the Custer Ave. Church of Christ, officiated by Patrick Peters. Burial will conclude in the Clinton Cemetery under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home.
Eddie B. King was born April 25, 1939, to Austin B. King and Vivian Irene (Smith) King in Clinton, OK and passed away Wednesday, September 13, 2023, being loved on and surrounded by family, in his Clinton home.
Eddie was raised in Arapaho, OK and graduated from Arapaho High School in 1958. While attending high school he was an outstanding basketball and baseball player. He married Dewilda “Jody” Darling on August 31, 1958. He soon began a 33-year career with the Clinton Cotton Oil Mill and was Manager until 1993. He was also employed with BAR-S Foods, Western Oklahoma Long Distance and he owned and operated M&M Computers until retirement.
He was a longtime active and faithful member of the Church of Christ; he served in several capacities. He had a servant’s heart and served as Deacon, but his biggest and most memorable accomplishment was being elected an Elder in the Church, a role he accepted and served very seriously and passionately.
He managed the Clinton men’s and ladies’ softball leagues for several years. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren and supporting them in their activities.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, infant son, Michael John and daughter Pam Andrews, twin brother, Billy King, two sons in law, Mark Howard and Fred Andrews, sister, Sharon Spears.
He is survived by his daughter, Melody Toma and husband, Kory, Chandler, OK, two sons, Scott King, and wife, Holly, Guthrie and Jeff King and wife, Jeanna, Clinton, OK.
He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, Elizabeth, Haley, Bryan, Brent, Randee, Karlee, Taylar, Corbyn, Jocelyn and Jeter and three great-grandchildren, Faith, Reese and Canaan.
