Arrangements for Kathy and her family are under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home in Clinton, Oklahoma.
Kathryn Cloe (Martin) Regier was born on Thursday, October 22,1942 in Brady, Oklahoma, the daughter of John Fletcher and Eva Cloe (Bean) Martin. She passed away peacefully on Friday, June 28, 2024, in her Cordell home surrounded by Charles, Nicole, and her grandchildren.
Kathy was the youngest of 11 children. Her parents moved to Elmore City, Oklahoma when she was an infant, remaining there until graduating high school. Kathy later attended East Central University in Ada, Oklahoma, graduating with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Medical Technology in 1964. She continued her professional development in medical technology, completing an internship at St. Anthony’s Hospital in Oklahoma City where she earned her credentials with the American Society of Clinical Pathology.
Kathy was united in marriage to Mr. Charles Regier on March 18, 1967, in Elmore City. Charles and Kathy made their home in Cordell where they welcomed their only child, a daughter, Nicole Renee’, in 1970.
Kathy was employed as a Medical Technologist for the State Hospital in Clinton, Oklahoma, later beginning a career with the Cordell Memorial Hospital in Cordell, Oklahoma. In the early 1980s, Kathy followed her heart and passion, launching “Kathy’s Kreations” from her home. Her strong work ethic and vision grew the business from starting small with a unique line of baby products to the opening of a retail store on the Square in downtown Cordell. The 1990’s found Kathy completing her education to become a Financial Advisor for Waddell and Reed with offices in Cordell, Weatherford and El Reno.
In 2009, Kathy’s health challenges began, and she could no longer continue to perform the work she so dearly loved so she retired. Throughout these health challenges, Kathy continued to practice her faith, depend on her beloved husband, Charles and daughter, Nicole, and pursue the best health care providers to overcome each challenge.
During this time Kathy pursued several hobbies, as her health would allow, with the same passion as she pursued in her career. She began stained glass inspired by her niece Sharon, followed by quilting, and finally painting – which became her primary focus and passion in her last years. She excelled in all that she committed to, never forgetting her dedication to doing her very best in every endeavor.
Kathy is a life-long member in the United Methodist Church, which has guided her journey and helped keep her faith strong. Kathy played the piano for the Elmore City United Methodist Church beginning at age nine, later transitioning to playing the organ at age 11. She was a leader for the UMFY youth at her church and for the district. She was nominated homecoming queen while a student at East Central University representing the Wesley Foundation. Kathy also served on numerous committees for the United Methodist Church throughout her lifetime. Her love of God and commitment to His church was always understood. Her favorite scripture is found in 1 Peter 2:24, “He himself bore our sins in his body on the cross, so that, free from sins, we might live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed.” These sacred words gave Kathy comfort during her many hospital stays and procedures.
Kathy deeply loved her husband, Charles, of more than 57 years of marriage for his steadfast love, companionship and support throughout her life. She adored her 3 grandkids, Brayden, Emma and Lauren and daughter Nicole. Some of her favorite family memories were camping and traveling in their Fifth Wheel Camper with their grandchildren, and of course fishing. Kathy enjoyed saying, “no one has had better friends than I have had!” She considered her friends as among her greatest blessings.
Kathy was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and the PEO Women’s organization in Cordell. Kathy loved anything creative, including painting, crafts, gardening and creative outlets. She also enjoyed traveling, shopping, decorating and fishing. Most of all she just loved being around people!
Kathy is survived by her husband, Charles, of the home in Cordell; one daughter, Nicole Regier Boyles and Cody Gauger of Edmond, Oklahoma; one grandson, Brayden Boyles of Cordell; two granddaughters, Emma Boyles and Lauren Boyles, of Weatherford, Oklahoma; one brother, Bob Maritn and his wife, Carolyn of Oklahoma City; one sister, Nahoma Nation, of Eugene, Oregon; one sister-inlaw, Ramona Martin; one brother-in-law, Dale Regier and his wife, Phyllis and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, additional family, friends and her three grand guinea pigs, Waffles, Latte’, and Nutmeg.
