(AP) — Gino Cappelletti, a former AFL Most Valuable Player and original member of the Boston Patriots who was part of the franchise for five decades as a player, coach and broadcaster, has died. He was 89.

Montiel “Bumpy” Crane gets a high five from Kat Meacham after he won the gold in discus at the Class 4A State Track Meet last weekend. The two sophomores are responsible for the past two state titles in discus, as Meacham won last year as a freshman. She took third this year and runner-up in the shot put. Crane bested the field by more than 15 feet.

CHS boys headed back to state

Clinton High School soccer will get a chance this weekend to add to its dynastic legacy, as the Red Tornadoes earned the right to defend last year’s state championship thanks to a 2-1 victory Over Hilldale Tuesday at the Tornado Bowl.
