CHS challenges OCS in final match of 2019

EDMOND – Drawing the No. 2 team in Class 4A for the regional tournament, the Clinton volleyball team had a mammoth task, but it never flinched and kept challenging the state tournament-bound Oklahoma Christian School Lady Saints in a 3-0, season-ending loss Thursday night.

The second annual Arapaho-Butler Alumni, co-ed Softball Tournament takes place Saturday Oct. 12 at the A-B softball field. The start time is to be determined, however the 2018 tournament started at 8 a.m. and went until 8 p.m.

CBA falls in finals

Corn Bible Academy senior Jenna Nelson, pictured, and the Class 3A, No. 8 Lady Crusaders (17-15 overall) fell in four sets to Heritage Hall in the regional finals Thursday. CBA ends the year with a winning record and a top-10 ranking.

Jefferson adds another coach of the year award

Clinton head soccer coach Eugene Jefferson put a second state championship ring on his hand in the spring of 2019, and now he’s putting another coaching award on his office wall. The United Soccer Coaches Association named Jefferson the Small School Soccer Coach of the Year for Oklahoma.
