Ukraine: Time to pay now or pay later

Mitch McConnell is demonized by Democrats, and rightly so, for his malevolent maneuvering that helped Donald Trump appoint three conservative justices to the Supreme Court. When it comes to policy toward Ukraine, however, the Senate Republican leader has emerged as one of the more courageous and clear-eyed realists in either party.

(AP) — Saddleback Church in Lake Forest, Calif., was one of five churches expelled by the Southern Baptist Convention for having women pastors on staff. The largest U.S. Protestant denomination's statement of faith prohibits women from being pastors. Stacie Wood, the wife of Saddleback's lead pastor Andy Wood, serves as teaching pastor. Following its expulsion from the SBC, Andy Wood, who succeeded Pastor Rick Warren last year, has reaffirmed the congregation's support of women in ministry. The church has yet to appeal the SBC's decision. Andy Wood also told congregants that a message detailing his and the church's stance on this issue is coming soon.
