The Custer County Election Board recently sent out a press release from the State Election Board wishing to notify Oklahoma voters that some may be receiving an Address Confirmation Notice from the state agency.

Clinton High School has announced the recipients of January’s Red Tornado Boy and Girl Award, an honor bestowed upon senior students who exemplify school spirit and an academic work ethic. Every month a ballot is sent out by Principal Michelle Sorter on which teachers vote for who they believe best exhibits the values of CHS. For the month of January Anelyz Martinez and Cole Bailey were selected for the honor.

Chuy Torres, the organizer of the Cinco De Mayo Parade and the events for the last four years that will be held Friday and Saturday, said there will be at least 30 participants in tomorrow’s parade.

Custer County Commissioners Monday morning engaged in a discussion with Amanda Burnside with the Oklahoma Alliance for Recovery Resources (OKARR). They wanted answers in regard to accountability of the Oklahoma Opioid Abatement Grant and got little data to digest in the process.

A retired teacher from Colorado won four boxes of books from a sweepstakes, and one of the rules was to list the school where the 100 new books would be sent.

A Hammon woman has been charged with a felony charge of a prisoner placing bodily fluid on a government employee and misdemeanor counts of threatening to perform an act of violence and public intoxication.
