Southwestern Oklahoma State University (SWOSU) has received its annual distribution from the Davis-McElmurry Testamentary Trust. The trust provides much-needed resources each year to the university for scholarships.

One of the non-profit organizations that will be at Kmart’s “Community Appreciation Day” on Saturday is local animal rescue group Haven Animal Rescue and Transport (HART) of Oklahoma, Inc. A qualified veterinary technician will be on hand to administer low-cost microchipping from 3-5 p.m.

Custer County residents who have real estate on which the 2018 taxes are delinquent should pay them before July 31, said Custer County Treasurer Janet Roulet.

Custer County commissioners, acting as trustees of the Custer County Economic Development Authority, Monday approved the issuance of up to $14.5 million in lease revenue bonds to finance the first part of the Thomas-Fay-Custer school improvements that voters authorized April 2.
