
Alfred “Frito” Reece Whitecrow “War-Bear,” 45, of Clinton, passed away early Monday, March 17, 2025, in Oklahoma City. He was born on October 9, 1979, in Clinton, OK, to Sullivan and Geretta (Laurenzana) Whitecrow.
Frito was raised in Clinton and attended Clinton High School, with the Class of 1997. He dedicated much of his life to serving as a Tribal Firefighter for the Cheyenne and Kiowa Tribes. A proud Native man, he deeply embraced his culture and traditions.
He was an avid sports fan who loved watching basketball, football, and professional wrestling. He also enjoyed riding bikes, listening to music, and spending time with his family, whom he cherished dearly.
Frito was preceded in death by his parents, Sullivan and Geretta Whitecrow.
He is survived by his children, SarCee Cree Whitecrow of California and Tabbetha Whitecrow of Apache, OK; his siblings, Rachel Whitecrow of Clinton, Gabriel Whitecrow of Washington, and Sullivan Whitecrow Jr.; and his beloved grandchildren, Elisabeth, Allie, Beatrice, Ziarie, Joann, and Malachi Whitecrow. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews, including Shaniece, Gabriel Jr., Dillion, Nathon, Chante, Ronald, Elijah, and Joe “Yoyo” Whitecrow.
Funeral service for Frito will be 11:00 A.M. Friday, March 21, 2025 at the Clinton ERC building with Rev. Bunny Whitecrow Jr. officiating, a traditional all-night wake will be at the ERC Thursday night starting at 7:00 P.M. Burial will follow the Friday service at the Clinton Indian Cemetery, all under the direction of the Lee Hometown Funeral Home.
Frito will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His legacy of love, laughter, and dedication to his family and culture will forever be remembered.
