Funeral Services for Arthur Klein, 97, lifelong Butler, OK resident will be held 10:00 AM, Monday, September 25, 2023, in the Butler Baptist Church, officiated by Cody Chaloner and Micah Whittington. The Burial will follow with military honors in the Butler Cemetery in Butler, OK under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home.
The family will greet guests, 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM, Sunday, September 24, 2023, in the Kiesau Memorial Chapel.
Arthur Edward Klein was born January 12, 1926, to Edward and Lela (Hughes) Klein in Butler, OK and passed away Wednesday, September 20, 2023, in the Homestead Assisted Living Center in Clinton, OK.
Arthur was raised in Butler, OK where he attended school. He was drafted into the U.S. Army in June of 1944 before he could graduate from high school. However, he was awarded an honorary GED Degree. He served during WWII and fought in many battles. He was honorably discharged in 1946 with numerous awards and medals.
He came back to his roots in Butler, Oklahoma and married Beulah Baker on August 4, 1946. He has farmed and ranched most of his adult life as well as running the Butler Lumber Yard, selling Farmers Union Insurance and he did all types of construction including concrete finishing and building concrete forms.
He was an active and faithful member of the German Freewill Baptist Church where he served as Deacon. After its closing he attended the Butler Baptist Church. He was a Bible Scholar and had read his Bible completely through at least eight times. Along with his wife they were involved in many of Butler’s activities. He was a longtime member of the American Legion. He loved to travel with his family, and he journeyed on numerous trips with the Country Jamboree. He was proud of the fact that he had traveled to all 50 of the United States and several countries.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, sister, Marie Graham and husband, Claude and Clara Fawver and husband, Boyd, two brothers, Calvin Klein and wife Irene and Elmer Klein and wife, Betty.
He is survived by two sons, Robert Klein and wife, Karen, Edmond, OK and Tommy Klein and wife, Susan, Clinton, OK and brother, Griffie Klein and wife, Wanda, Wichita, KS.
He is also survived by five grandchildren, Dala Bebee and husband, Duane, Justin Klein and wife, Nicki, Faith Klein, Heather Klein and Adam Klein and 10 greatgrandchildren, Trey, Daniel, Brooks, Lanie, Janie, Gracie, Ty, Tiana, Kylan, and Trennon.
The family has suggested those wanting to make a memorial contribution may do so to the Butler Baptist Church or the Gideons Bibles.
