Suffering no more and in peace at last, Betty Lou Birkle Black, 76, of Clinton, OK passed away Monday, July 20, 2020 and in the care of Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home.
Daughter of Joe E Birkle, Sr and Lillian Ester Schultz Birkle, Betty was born October 9, 1943 in Shattuck, OK. Betty married Kenneth Parker in August 1961 and they had two daughters, Dona Dorena and LaDeana Lynn.
Betty was working at the Shattuck hospital when she met and later married the love of her life, Bobby Gene Black Sr., who was working on a construction project. They were married on December 3, 1982. They lived in Oklahoma, Ohio, Florida and Texas. They enjoyed camping trips with friends - “roughing it” in an RV, visiting with family and friends, dancing and music.
Betty shared her love for design with others by working at clothing boutiques and a floral shop. She loved making floral arrangements and was incredibly talented at it. She also loved the many dogs they had. Buddy I and Buddy II were cherished pets.
She is survived by her daughters, Dorena Cooley and LaDeana Broadbent, her stepsons Bob Black Jr. and wife Gwendolyn, Steve Black and wife Melanie, sister Donna Ruf and husband Rhodney, special nieces Rena Morgan and husband Jim and Renae Gains and husband Charles, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-greatgrandchildren, nieces, nephews and sisters-in-law Betty Terry and Martha Birkle.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Joe Birkle Jr. and Bryon Birkle, greatgrandson Devon Cooley, and step-son Samuel Black.
