A funeral service for Cara Wheeler of rural Binger will be at Sickles Community Church, Tuesday, 10:00 AM, May 10, 2022, Lookeba, OK.
A Private Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Weatherford under the direction of Turner Funeral Home of Hinton, OK.
Cara was born on November 29, 1964 in Clinton, OK to Weldon and Patsy Collier. She was raised in Weatherford, OK and wanted to be a nurse from the time she was a small child. She became an LPN and worked at several hospitals, nursing homes, home health agencies, and was with Russell-Murray for five years.
She loved animals and they loved her. Cara enjoyed living in the country with Mike, raising chickens and tending her plants and flowers. She also enjoyed going to the lake and fishing. Hosting dinners and cookouts at holiday times was also special to her but her greatest joy was being with all the children and grandchildren.
Cara married Leslie Chester in 1981 and they had two daughters. In 1990 she married Keith Bernzott and they had one son. Then she and Mike got back together after dating when they were young teenagers. She passed away the day before their 20th anniversary.
Survivors Include: her husband Mike Wheeler of the home, two daughters, Tara (Patrick) Williams of Colony, and Jessica (Tyler) Lesperance of Weatherford, OK, one son, Brady (Kasie) Bernzott of Binger, OK, one step-daughter, Natasha Taylor of Weatherford, OK, and one step-son, Michael (Mary) Wheeler of Anadarko, OK, Cara had 9 grandchildren and 5 step-grandchildren, Hunter, Logan, and Azrielle Williams, Chasydi, Payton, TJ, and Acelyn Lesperance, Brylee and Kambri Bernzott, Jozie, Ethan and Tatum Taylor, Zackary Wheeler and Brooke, Payten, and Claire Sampson, her mother, Patsy Collier and her sister, Brenda Brunker both of Weatherford, a brother, Eric Collier of Ada, OK, two aunts, two sisters-in-law, several nieces and nephews and several cousins, her mother-in-law, Glenda Wheeler, and brothers-in-law, Leslie (Carol) Wheeler, and Tommy Wheeler.
Cara was preceded in death by her father, Weldon Collier, two brothers, Steve and Marty Collier, a niece, Rachel Collier, and a brother-in-law, Johnie Brunker.
