Funeral Services for Chester “Chet” Manderscheid, 87, Clinton resident will be held 10:00 A.M., Friday, April 15, 2022, in the Kiesau Memorial Chapel, officiated by Patrick Peters. Burial will conclude in the Clinton Cemetery with Military honors and under the direction of the Kiesau Lee Funeral Home.
Chester Ross Manderscheid was born March 19, 1935, to Ivan and Bertha (Cope) Manderscheid in Seiling, OK and passed away Monday, April 11, 2022, in the Clinton Veterans Center.
Chester was raised and attended school in the Seiling and Oakwood areas. He graduated from Harding Academy in Harding, AR in 1953. He soon enlisted in tne U.S. Army in March of 1954 and was honorably discharged in March of 1957. He was married to Evelyn Delores Whealy on August 17, 1957.
He lived in Seattle, WA and worked for Boeing Aircraft before moving back to Oklahoma in 1963. He lived on his parent’s farm before moving on to Clinton where he worked for Bills Bakery, R.C. Cola and for the U.S. Postal Service for several years. He also drove a truck cross-country before retiring in 1997. After his retirement he continued to do farm labor.
He was a longtime member of the Church of Christ; he was a collector of many things; he loved to ride motorcycles and he enjoyed being a part of the Round up Club and riding horses.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife.
He is survived by his two daughters, Cheryl Lowder, Clinton and Catherine Marie Sprague and husband, Victor, Evart, MI and son, Mark Ross Manderscheid and wife, Lula, Guthrie, OK: sister, Ivanna Livingston, Clinton.
He is also survived by six grandchildren and seven greatgrandchildren.
