Graveside Services for Clista Dodson, 84, Putnam resident will be held 3:00 P.M., Wednesday, December 9, 2020 in the Center Point Cemetery in Dewey County officiated by Pastor David Beck and under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home.
A PRIVATE Service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, December 9, 2020 in Putnam’s First Christian Church. The family invites friends to Live Stream at Face book Live at First Christian Church of Putnam, OK, to be a part of the funeral services.
Clista Darlene (Peck) Dodson was born October 16, 1936 to Guy Lee Peck and Velma Sabina (Hadley) Peck in Aledo, Oklahoma and passed away Saturday, December 05, 2020 in the Great Plains Regional Medical Center in Elk City, Oklahoma.
Clista was raised on the Peck family farm near Aledo and attended Aledo Schools and later graduated from Leedey High School. She married Robert Leon Dodson September 28, 1954 in Clinton. They made their first homes in Clinton and Wynnewood before settling back on a farm west of Putnam. In 1973 they built a new home about a mile down the road and have lived there until the present.
She was a farmer’s wife and worked along the side of her husband as well as being a full time mom, worked at the Aledo Country Store and worked as a Nurse’s Aide at the Thomas Nursing Home, and was a caregiver to her parents.
She was a longtime and faithful member of the First Christian Church; she loved to quilt and was a member of several quilting clubs and was considered a Master Quilter.
She is preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and a sister, Lacey Peck, Norma Steele and David Peck.
She is survived by her husband, of the home, two daughters, Mona Kauk and husband, Keith, Butler and Grace Craig, of the home; son Gary Dodson and wife, Kathy, Leedey; sister, Ardell Morton, Guthrie and brother, Don Peck, Arapaho.
She is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 15 greatgrandchildren.
The family has requested memorial contributions to be made to the Putnam Senior Citizens in Putnam, OK.
