A Memorial Service for Pastor Dave Gerbrandt, 78, Clinton resident will be held 2:00 P.M., Thursday, March 5, 2020 in the Corn Mennonite Brethren Church, officiated by Pastor Daniel Mosburg and under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home.
David “Dave” Franklin Gerbrandt was born August 7, 1941 to D.J. Gerbrandt and Linda (Wiens) Gerbrandt and passed away Saturday, February 29, 2020 in the Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City, OK.
Pastor Gerbrant was raised in Indianola, Oklahoma and attended and graduated from the Corn Bible Academy in 1959. He continued his education at the Tabor College in Hillsboro, Kansas. He married Marilyn Gossen June 20, 1961 in Bethany, OK. He taught school at Oklahoma City, the Oklahoma Bible Academy for a short time. He started a construction business in the Enid area where he built approximately 40 homes. He was called to preach in 1980 and served the Mennonite Churches in Amarillo, TX, Shafter, California and Clinton, where he retired in 2011. Since his retirement he purchased and managed rental properties.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Richard Gerbrandt, a stillborn son, and his sister, Carol Hannah, passed away only hours after Dave.
He is survived by his wife, Marilyn, of the home, two daughters, Terri Neufeld and husband, Jonathan, Goshen, IN and Roxanne Cates and husband, Dennis, Amarillo, TX; two sons, Ron Gerbrandt and wife, Laurel, Indianapolis, Indiana and Todd Gerbrandt and wife, Amy, McPherson, KS; sister, Margie Wiens and husband, Delbert, Fresno, CA and brother, Butch Gerbrandt and wife, Gretchen, Butte, MT.
He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. The family has suggested those wanting to give a memorial contribution may do so to the Grow Corn Bible Academy c/o Corn Bible Academy, P.O. Box 38, Corn, OK 73024.
