Earl Dean Pingry, 78, of Clinton, passed away on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at River Valley Nursing Home. He was born on February 19, 1947, in Clinton to Elton and Nellie (White) Pingry.
Earl was a proud graduate of Clinton High School, Class of 1964, where he was a dedicated Red Tornado. Following graduation, he served his country by enlisting in the Army National Guard. A lifelong resident of Clinton, he spent 14 years working as a framer at Hobby Lobby in Oklahoma City before returning home about 15 years ago to be closer to his daughter, Traci.
Earl had a passion for collecting arrowheads and, more recently, rocks. He loved guns and shooting, enjoyed making his own knives and swords, and spent time fishing with his grandson Coby. He also cherished outings with his granddaughter Carrissa, searching for treasures with his metal detector.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elton and Nellie Pingry; his sister, Carolyn Sue Pingry; and his brother, Gerry Pingry. Earl is survived by his daughter, Traci Rogers, and her husband, Gene, of Clinton; grandchildren, Carrissa Travis and her husband, Dillon, and Coby Rogers and his wife, Breanna; and great-grandchildren, Eden Marie Ann Travis, River B. Travis, Casin Rogers, and Cash Rogers.
A private family service will be held today at Geary Cemetery.
A memorial gathering will take place the following weekend, with details to be announced.
Services are under the direction of Lee Hometown Funeral Home.
