Edgar Wayne Stocks passed away peacefully Tuesday, March 2, 2021 in Plano, Texas. He was born in Clinton, Oklahoma to Joshua Frank and Cordelia (Gossett) Stocks on March 6, 1927.

Wayne married Betty Joyce (Dooley) Pier on June 17, 1977. Wayne was a proud American and he served his country in the U.S. Army from 1946 until 1963. He served in Korea, Japan and several bases in the U.S. Wayne worked many years as a materials manager at Rockwell International.

He enjoyed Church, fishing, gardening, spoiling his little dogs and his wife. Wayne loved his family and he truly enjoyed all the grandchildren and they all loved “Pawpaw” and his entire family adored him. Wayne was a wonderful, kind, caring man and a friend to everyone he met.

He is preceded in death by his parents Frank and Cordelia, along with his siblings Ernest Joseph Stocks and his wife Connie, Hugh (Todd) Darwood Stocks and his wife Anna, Harriet Louise Flaming and husband William, Frank Stocks, Betty Jo Resler and husband Edwin, Lorrain Williamson and husband Clarence (Willy), Riley Anson Stocks and Barbara Lu Howard. Wayne was the last of the eight children. He was also preceded in death by stepson Greg Pier.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 PM, Friday, March 5, 2021 at DeBerry Funeral Directors with visitation starting at 1:30 PM. Wayne will be interred at the DFW National Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Josh Stocks, Brad Freeman, Bryan Dykes, Sam Zimmerman, Chris Ngo, Steven Ngo and Daren Dykes.

Wayne is survived by his wife Betty Stocks, son Gary Stocks and wife Thien of Plano, TX, stepchildren Gil Pier and wife Georgia of Rockwall, TX, Susan Dykes and husband Don of Parker, TX, and Lisa Zimmerman and husband Jeff of Allen, TX. Ten grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
