Funeral services for Floyd “Gene” Collins has been set 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, March 18, 2020 at the Butler Baptist Church with Rev. Terry Bills officiating, and under the direction of the Kiesau Lee Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Butler Cemetery.
Due to the CDC restrictions we will have a private family only service, and open the graveside around 3:00 P.M. to the public, because of this the family will hold a visitation at the funeral home from 6:00 P.M. to 7:30 P.M. Tuesday the night before.
Gene was born October 12, 1931 to Milo and Mamie Bell (Lick) Collins in Ft. Towson, and passed away Saturday, March 14, 2020 in Oklahoma City.
Gene graduated from Butler High School and was married to Ruth Ann Burgess on May 28th, 1949. They lived in Butler where Gene worked as the COOP Manager and started the R and F Trucking company with his brother Paul. Later he would start a custom harvesting career that would span 39 years and 3 states.
He was a member of the Butler Baptist Church in Butler, OK.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, brothers Earl and Paul, and a son Gary.
He is survived by a daughter Donna Ackley and husband Chuck, sons John Collins and his wife Kim, Bobby Collins and his wife Doris, 12 grandkids, 26 great grandkids, 4 great- great grandkids and a host of other relatives and friends who claimed him as grandpa.
