Graveside services for Gilbert Dick, 80, longtime Clinton banker, will be held Tuesday, May 5, 2020, in the Peace Lutheran Cemetery, officiated by Pastor Jerry Lamb and under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home.
Gilbert Gottfred Dick was born November 17, 1939, to Gottfred and Anna (Friedrich) Dick in Clinton, Oklahoma, and passed away Wednesday, April 29, 2020, in his Clinton home.
Mr. Dick was raised in the Bessie and Clinton areas. He attended Clinton schools and graduated from Clinton High School in 1958. He continued his education at Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford, Oklahoma and received his business degree in 1962.
He married Arloene Littke on August 6, 1961, in Bessie, Oklahoma. He soon started a long career with the First National Bank in Clinton, where he started as a teller and worked his way up through bookkeeping, accounting, and then loan officer.
He attended Northwestern University in Chicago, Ill., and received his trust business degree in August 1994. He then developed the trust department at First Bank and Trust in Clinton, where he retired in 2008 after 45 years of service.
Dick was a longtime active and faithful member of the Peace Lutheran Church. He was on the Board of Directors at Clinton’s First Bank and Trust for several years, and he enjoyed working on old cars.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Arloene, in 2014; his parents; two brothers, Paul, and infant Harvey; and a sister, Viola Moser.
He is survived by his two sons, Duane Dick and wife Debra, Clinton, and Alan Dick and wife Sheila, Tulsa, Oklahoma.
He is also survived by five grandchildren, Justin Dick of Edmond, Savana Etgeton of Seattle, Wash., and Caleb Dale, Sierra Dale and Caden Dale, all of Tulsa; and three great-grandchildren, Lillian Dick, Matilda Etgeton and Leo Dale.
Visitation will be from 1-8 p.m. Sunday, and from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. Monday at Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home.
