Graveside services for Gladyce Mildred Williams will be Saturday December 12, 2020 at 2:00 PM at the Clinton Cemetery, Dan Day officiating and under the direction of Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home.
Gladyce Mildred Larson Williams waltzed her way to heaven on December 3, 2020 at the young age of 98 with her loved ones by her side.
“Gigi” as her grandkids referred to her as was the third of ten children born to Ethel Lucille Christensen and Abel Larson of Graettinger, Iowa. She married Glen Williams on December 7, 1940 and was blessed with one beautiful daughter Kaylene. She also had 32 nieces and nephews at that time so her cup runneth over.
Gladyce was a trail blazer for women equal rights. She spent 36 years working for corn states hybrid I Des Moines, Iowa. She retired in 1987 as purchasing and international export executive.
Gladie loved to travel for work or vacation. She would fly across the country at a minute’s notice to be with family or friends. After her retirement, she traveled the world with her friends Delores, Emma and JoAnn. She loved spending her winters in Florida.
She used to meet her siblings in Canada for fishing trips. She traveled to Cannon Beach Oregon every year for the WOLF (Women of the Larson Family) retreat circa 1989 for 30 years.
Gigi loved to sew, crochet, quilt, arts, and crafts. When Kay was young, she used to make recital costumes in exchange for dance lessons. At one time she had a garden and sold produce to her grocery store. She made wedding gowns for her neice and her granddaughter. But she will probably be remembered most of her bunny families she made for all her loves.
Gladyce moved to Oklahoma after her retirement to be closer to her grandchildren, But that never slowed her down. She danced till the end………
