Jack Blake Berry, 62, went to his heavenly home on October 14, 2024, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, surrounded by those who loved him. His services will be held at 11am on Saturday, October 19, 2024, at the family’s ranch west of Marlow, 3 3/4 miles north of Highway 7 on 7 Mile Road, under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home, with Jamie Dees officiating. Additionally, a memorial service will be held at Clinton Livestock Auction at 9:30am on Tuesday, October 22, 2024.

Blake was born on December 2, 1961, to Jack and Joan Berry in Lawton, Oklahoma. He attended elementary and middle school in Lawton before attending high school at Central High, graduating with the class of 1980. He was active in football, baseball, FFA, and high school rodeo. He went on to rodeo at Redlands Community College before moving closer to home and attending Cameron University. In February 1987, Blake met the love of his life, Sandra Hamilton. After only a handful of months of dating, Blake and Sandi united in marriage on August 1, 1987. The two eventually purchased and planted their roots at their farm just north of Central High. From that union, they welcomed two children, Hesston and Haley. Blake was a devoted husband and father, but in his eyes, there was no better title for him than “Poppy” when he became a grandfather in 2021.

After years of experience under his Grandpa Jiggs’ wing, Blake became a cattle enthusiast, and he was always excited to share his cattle knowledge. In August of 2009, he purchased a sale barn, known as Clinton Livestock Auction, where he had the opportunity to spread that knowledge to the people of western Oklahoma. He never charged extra for a cattle consultation, because driving around and looking at cattle was what he did in his free time anyway. Agriculture being his passion, he served on the Stephens County Farm Bureau board for over 20 years.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father, a niece Kaylee Hamilton, and stepfather Darrell Simpson.

He is survived by his wife, Sandra of the home; son Jack Hesston Berry and his wife Morgan of Marlow; daughter Haley Curtsinger and her husband Clint of Marlow; grandchildren Hannah Joan Curtsinger, Grayson Dean Berry, and Cason Blake Curtsinger; brother Brett Berry and his wife Mary of Bryan, Texas; sister-inlaw Penny and her husband Straw of Cordell, Oklahoma; brother-in-law Colin “Boo” Hamilton and his wife Mary of Fort Cobb, Oklahoma; aunt Jeri Stallings of Amarillo, Texas; aunt Peggy Berry of Midwest City, Oklahoma; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and too many friends to count.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to the charity of your choice in honor of Blake.
