In Loving Memory of James Randall “Randy” Lax James Randall “Randy” Lax, age 72, of Clinton, passed away on September 8, 2024, at the Canadian Valley Hospital in Yukon, Oklahoma. A memorial service will be held next week to honor his life and legacy, with arrangements managed by Lee Hometown Funeral Home.

Born on September 19, 1951, in Cherokee, Oklahoma, Randy was the cherished son of Samuel and Hellen (Schmidt) Lax Jr.

Raised in Bessie, Randy’s early years were spent amidst the close-knit community there, where he began his journey of curiosity and camaraderie. Transitioning to Clinton Jr. and Clinton High School, Randy proudly graduated as a Red Tornado in 1969, a testament to his resilience and determination.

Randy’s life was a tapestry of diverse passions and pursuits. A devoted member of the Gospel Tabernacle Church in Arapaho, he found strength and solace in his faith.

His professional life was marked by his work as a skilled mechanic at Buck Chevrolet and O.D.O.T., where his expertise and dedication were well recognized. Randy’s knack for fixing things extended beyond his formal roles; he was known for his generosity, always ready to lend a hand with mechanical fixes for friends and neighbors.

Randy’s hobbies painted a vibrant picture of his character.

He reveled in the simplicity and beauty of gardening and yard work, found peace in fishing and camping, and experienced the thrill of hunting. His enthusiasm also shone through in his collections of Zippos, fishing lures, and model trucks, each piece a cherished part of his life’s story. His zest for life, coupled with his generous spirit, left a lasting impression on all who knew him.

Preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother, Randy leaves behind a loving family who will miss him dearly. He is survived by his sister, Cherlynn Rea of Cordell; his niece, Charissa Pratt of Cordell; his brother, Brad Lax of Clinton; and his extended family at the Xodus MC Clubhouse in Clinton, who were like brothers to him.

Randy’s life was a testament to the joys of simple pleasures, the value of hard work, and the impact of a generous heart.

His memory will continue to inspire and be cherished by those who were fortunate enough to know him.
