Jeffery Dean Terrell, age 51, a lifelong resident of Custer City, Oklahoma, was born on April 21, 1973, in Thomas, Oklahoma, to Larry Dean and Judy Marie (Bowman) Terrell. He passed away suddenly on Friday, March 28, 2025, just west of Custer City.
Known as “Jeff” but also gained the nickname “Bo-Dean” by his friends and family, he was raised in Custer City, where he attended grade school and graduated as a proud Custer City Panther in 1991. During high school, Jeff was an active student, playing baseball and basketball, participating in choir, and being a member of FFA.
He worked for Mark Mannering Farms a few years before starting in 1992 for John Zerby Farms, where he remained dedicated for 33 years until his passing. On May 29, 1993, he married the love of his life, Stacey Moulton, in Fairview, Oklahoma.
Jeff was a devoted member of the First Christian Church in Custer City. He previously served as an elder and assisted with youth programs on Wednesday nights. Additionally, he committed many years to the Custer City Fire Department, where he served from March 1996 until his retirement in 2016. During his time with the department, he held positions such as Secretary/ Treasurer and Assistant Fire Chief and played a key role in building several fire trucks still in use today. Jeff coached both of his boys in summer league baseball when they were growing up. He served on the Custer City Town Counsel for several years, and Jeff was also an active member of the Custer City Community Center, serving as a Board of Trustees.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, working on the farm, and tending to his cattle. However, his greatest joy came from spending time with his granddaughters. Jeff was known for his outgoing personality, warm smile, and quick-witted humor, he never met a stranger. He spent the past eight Christmas Holidays bringing joy and laughter to kids and adults alike, as he was commissioned by the North Pole to help out! This brought so much joy and happiness to Jeff as well.
Jeff was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his beloved wife, Stacey, of their home; his sons, Skyler Dean Terrell of Custer City and Braden Gene Terrell and his wife Kennedy Marie Terrell; and his cherished granddaughters, Blair Grace Terrell, Sedler Kate Terrell, and Merrick Lynn Terrell, all of Elk City, who lovingly called him “J Pa”; his brother, Larry Don Terrell and his wife Latricia Terrell, niece Liberty and Nephew Lincoln, all of Custer City, his niece Karen Olsen, and nephews Kyle Olsen, and Kaleb Noria all of Ft. Smith Arkansas, as well as his mother-in-law Amber Capps of Custer City, who considered him as a son.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, at the First Christian Church of Custer City, officiated by Tim McMillan, under the direction of Lee Hometown Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Custer City Masonic Cemetery.
