Funeral services for Jo Ann Pasby, 85, of Oklahoma City will be held at 10 a.m. today in the First United Methodist Church of Weatherford.
She died Monday, July 29, 2019, at Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City.
Pasby was born May 10, 1934, in Strong City to Sidney and Mildred (Tomberlin) Cogburn. She was raised on the family dairy farm, southeast of Strong City. She attended school in Strong City and Cheyenne, where she graduated from Cheyenne High School in 1953.
On March 14, 1953, she married Jimmie Pasby of Cheyenne. The couple made homes in Cheyenne, Shattuck, Woodward, Pryor, Sapulpa and Clinton. They retired and moved to Oklahoma City in 2008.
Pasby enjoyed golfing, sewing, knitting, crocheting, gardening, puzzles, going to the grandchildren’s activities, and spending time with family and friends. She was known for her endless supply of peanut butter rice krispy treats with butterscotch chocolate icing.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Pasby is survived by her husband, Jimmie Pasby of Oklahoma City; two sons, Keith Pasby and wife Teresa of Tyler, Texas, and Mike Pasby and wife Kim of Fort Cobb; two daughters, Debbie Gossman of Oklahoma City and Cindy Lockstone and husband Marty of Weatherford; two brothers, Charles Cogburn and wife Mary Alice and Roy Cogburn and wife Linda, all of Albuquerque, N.M.; one sister, Betty Carl and husband Jerry of Las Cruces, N.M.; fifteen grandchildren; and sixteen great-grandchildren.
The family suggests that memorials may be made to the OMRF – Dementia Research.
Burial will follow the service at Greenwood Cemetery.
