Larry Emerson Siess “Diddy” formerly of Clinton, Oklahoma, and resident of Duncan, Oklahoma, passed peacefully into Heaven with his beloved wife Sue, daughter Jamie, and son Chuck by his side, and his daughter Julie waiting with open arms, on Saturday, August 29, 2020 at the age of 74.
Larry was sent down from Heaven on November 2, 1945 and landed in the arms of Joseph Emerson Siess and Willie Mae Siess. In his early years, Larry attended Stafford Community School before moving to Clinton, Oklahoma, where he graduated from Clinton High School in 1964. Larry married the love of his life, Sue Moore Siess on December 11, 1964 and they soon started a family of two daughters, Jamie and Julie, and one son, Chuck. After graduation and marriage, Larry farmed and worked with his father at Siess Dozer, where they did dozer work building ponds and terraces for farmers in western Oklahoma. Larry began working at Oklahoma Natural Gas and ONEOK in 1968, where various promotions took him to different parts of Oklahoma. Even after retirement, Larry spent several years working in pipeline contract construction.
It is well known that Larry was a sports enthusiast and could be found chasing any ball that was round. In his younger days, Larry was an avid softball player, and his crowning achievement was his 40 and Over softball team qualifying to play in the National Tournament in Washington D.C. After hanging up his softball glove and cleats, Larry found a true love for golf. The Shawnee Elks Lodge Golf Course and The Territory Golf & Country Club would never be the same. Larry formed many special and lifelong friendships along the way and countless stories could be told. As much as Larry loved to be on the field or course, some could argue that his true passion was one of a sports fan. Larry traveled far and wide to watch his children and grandchildren play and very rarely missed a game. He was a permanent fixture of encouragement in the stands and there was no doubt he was truly their number one champion.
Larry was preceded in death by his adored daughter Julie Ann Siess; his parents Joseph Emerson and Willie Mae Siess; and his sister Linda Turner.
Larry is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years Sue Moore Siess; his daughter Jamie Siess of McKinney, Texas; his son Chuck Siess and wife Cortnie of Duncan, Oklahoma; his two granddaughters, Addison Ann Siess and Dylan Cain Siess; and countless family and friends that are too numerous to list.
