On the evening of Saturday, January 29, 2022 the world lost a beautiful soul, Linda Darlene Raabe at the age of 73 years young. Her journey in life began in Joppa, IL on August 12, 1948, born to Irving Lester and Gracie Lee (Skaggs) Bolds.
In her early years the family lived in many different areas due to her dad’s career, but settled in Clinton, OK where Linda graduated with the Class of 1966. She continued her education at Southwestern State University in Weatherford, OK. Linda obtained her Bachelor of Art in Science degree graduating with the Class of 1970.
From 1963 to 1972, she worked in all operations of the Westside Superette Grocery Store that her parents owned and operated. In 1984, she taught children ages 9-12 in all academic subjects for two semesters in the Christian School operated by Reigning Life Christian Fellowship of Longview, TX. Linda was a hard worker and volunteered in many capacities for her community and church. From 1985 – 1990, she served on the City Council of the City of East Mountain, TX. She was appointed to fill a vacancy and then was later elected to the same position twice.
Linda married Jon William Raabe on May 27, 1997 in Denton, TX. She worked for Martin Marietta Materials as an accounting specialist from 2001 retiring in 2012. Linda was a member of the North Texas Trinity Cowboy Church in Sanger, TX where she was the intercessory prayer leader. She also led the Prayer For The Nation at the church. Linda coordinated with the Sanger High School to assist with the Backpack Food Program to help aid children. She enjoyed fishing, cooking, baking, canning, gardening, and photography. Linda loved spending time with her great-nephew “Little John.”
Left behind to cherish her memory is her husband, Jon Raabe of the home; stepson, Chris Raabe and wife Karen of Denton; stepdaughter, Anita Raabe and husband Matt Hill of Brookings, SD; niece, LesLee Gage and husband Sean of Marietta, OK; and greatnephew, John Lester Gage of Marietta.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Irving and Gracie Bolds, and a sister, Jerri Bolds.
Services to celebrate Linda’s life will be held at 12:00 p.m., Monday, February 7, 2022 North Texas Trinity Cowboy Church in Sanger with Pastor Ken Peterson officiating. Services are under the direction of Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Marietta.
